Christianity is Jewish began in late 2009 as a ministry of New Hope Chapel in Arnold, MD by then NHC staff members Gary Derechinsky and Justin Hibbard. Together they worked to create radio spots that aired in the greater Baltimore area on WRBS and articles for Christianity is Jewish.
Named after Edith Schaeffer’s (wife of theologian Francis Schaeffer) book, Christianity is Jewish immediately got a lot of attention from people interested in understanding more of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. To better understand what is meant and what is not implied by claiming Christianity is Jewish, please read the article – “Is Christianity Jewish?”
Today, Christianity is Jewish is more than just a ministry of one church. Seeking to be a resource for many churches and individuals seeking to delve into the context of Scripture, the purpose of Christianity is Jewish is to be a ministry that seeks to bring understanding about the Jewish roots of the Christian faith and its fulfillment in Jesus as the Messiah.
We hope you might consider partnering with Christianity is Jewish and helping share the Gospel message – from Old Testament history springs New Testament Hope.
